Maggie Scott
Maggie Scott is
a textile artist. She uses new technology in craft to produce
scarves, shawls, throws and cushions. Maggie trained in fashion
design and textiles and for over 25 years colour has been
fundamental to her work.
Exploring transparency and texture, stripes and simple geometric
shapes, in her latest collection Maggie has been ‘painting with
felt’ – adding colour and texture by applying fine layers of wool
fibers to painted silk chiffon.
A great admirer of
the Bauhaus movement and its design ethic, Maggie creates woven,
knitted, stitched and felted pieces of ‘wearable art’.
